Now conveyancers can demonstrate best practice and meet the HM Land Registry’s new Digital ID Standard with Lawyer Checker’s Thirdfort Standard product. This week, Thirdfort have launched Thirdfort Standard, an ultra-secure digital ID check that fully aligns with the HMLR Digital ID Standard.
Lawyer Checker’s Thirdfort Standard fully embraces biometric and cryptographic technology to verify client identity, meeting ‘Safe Harbour’, meaning HMLR will not seek recourse against firm’s who meet these criteria. To meet this industry benchmark, conveyancers must utilise biometric facial recognition, NFC and liveness checking to verify authenticity of a client’s Passport.
Lawyer Checker’s Thirdfort is an FCA regulated web and mobile app that combines facial recognition technology with Open Banking and document scanning to modernise and simplify identity and source of fund checks, carried out within the home-buying process. This cutting-edge technology initiates NFC-chip verification and iProov – whose technology is used by the NHS, Home Office and US Homeland Security. It’s quick, secure and can be used entirely remotely, ideal for busy conveyancers who all need to demonstrate due diligence and safeguarding to their clients, regulators and insurers.
Karen Babington, Commercial Director at Lawyer Checker said: “Over the past 11 years, Lawyer Checker has become a trusted brand with conveyancers and legal professionals to help defend against fraud and cyber threat.
