2018 has been a successful year for Lawyer Checker which began with the launch of our new website, having grown to become a market leader in risk management tools. Following the website we launched our new product, OnDMARC which helps legal professionals effectively secure their firm’s email.

The Lawyer Checker team continued to build with the appointment of a new Business Development Executive, Tom Lyes, who has a track record of recognising opportunities which go beyond customer expectation - and has significant experience in client account management.

As a key provider of risk management tools, we were shortlisted for “Innovation of the Year” category at the esteemed Eclipse Modern Law Conveyancing Awards too.

To firmly embed ourselves in the legal risk-management market we have attended the LFS Conference where we committed to helping many conveyancing firms avoid fraudulent activity by setting up camp with a stand at the event.

Finally, this month we proudly celebrated the re-certification of ISO 27001 compliant Information Security Management System after previously acquiring the certificate – which provides for improved customer and business partner confidence in the industry.

With the SRA reporting that Cyber crime has risen again over the last 12 months and the amount of client money reported as stolen has also increased over the last year is more than enough evidence that fraud and cyber crime in Conveyancing is a major issue.

Conveyancing is now the highest risk area of law with solicitors and law firms now facing increasing threats from cyber criminals as cybercrime becomes widespread in the UK.  If effective risk-management systems are not put in place to protect your firm and your clients, a cyber attack can threaten your operations and reputation within the marketplace.

Cyber crime is continually evolving but by implementing Lawyer Checker’s products such as Account and Entity Screen, Consumer Bank Account Checker, and OnDMARC software can reassure law firms that they are protecting their clients’ funds against fraud to the best of their abilities and showing their clients that their needs are top priority when it comes to managing their money.
